Obviously not wanting a repeat of what happened during the 2021 Winter Storm Uri, the Texas grid operator, ERCOT issued a weather watch for this week.
The grid operator said the forecasted cold weather across its service area would result in higher electrical demand and the potential for lower reserves. So far, grid conditions are expected to be normal and there is no current expectation of an energy emergency, reported Fox 7 in Austin.
