A new general manager has been chosen for the Oklahoma Association of Electric Cooperatives.
Nicki Fuller was picked by the OAEC’s Board of Trustees to head the statewide association of 30 electric cooperatives in the state.
“Nicki is well equipped to lead our statewide organization,” said Bob Usry, president of the OAEC Board of Trustees and Norman-based Oklahoma Electric Cooperative director. “Her unique skills and experience make her a well-rounded leader. Her visionary leadership will guide our electric cooperatives into a new era.”
Fuller’s tenure will begin on April 1. She will follow Chris Meyers, who is retiring on March 31 as the head of the association after 15 years of service.
“I’m deeply honored to serve Oklahoma’s electric cooperatives and carry on the mission of powering lives and empowering communities throughout Oklahoma’s 77 counties,” said Fuller.
“Growing up on co-op lines, I’m eager to advocate for the members of our co-ops and look forward to contributing to an industry that makes a difference in the lives of many.”
Fuller is the current executive director of the Southwestern Power Resources Association (SPRA), a not-for-profit organization of consumer-owned electric systems located in Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma and Texas, serving over 10 million end users.
She currently serves as vice chair of the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association’s Preference Customer Committee and chair of the American Public Power Association’s Federal Hydropower Committee. Additionally, Fuller serves on the Executive Committee and Board of the National Waterways Association and is advisor to the joint Department of Energy and Corps of Engineers Federal Hydropower Council and member of the Oklahoma Waterways Board.
Fuller is a native of Marshfield, Missouri. She graduated from Missouri State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science as well as the University of Tulsa (TU) College of Law with her Juris Doctorate. While at TU, she served as a member of the Energy Law Journal.
She and her husband John currently reside in Owasso, Oklahoma with their sons Jack and Luke where they are members of Verdigris Valley Electric Cooperative. The family will relocate to the Oklahoma City metro area in the near future.
