A lot of water customers in Guthrie were pretty shocked recently when their water bills soared by hundreds of dollars even though their usage did not increase.

KOCO TV reported it resulted in the city finally admitting there was a malfunction of meter readings and as a result, estimates were made of water usage for nearly six months.
