If state Sen. Lisa Standridge has her way, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority will not only face legislative control over turnpike fee increases but also over the way the Authority plans turnpikes.
She wants to keep homeowners from “being blindsided about losing their property,” reported KOCO TV 5 news.
Sen. Standridge has proposed a bill to limit the power of the Turnpike Authority, a bill to put the power in the hands of people before turnpike plans are drawn up and adopted. Another bill in the legislative hopper focuses on giving the legislature more control over increased turnpike fees.
