Next broadband launch to take place Monday in Wellston

Wellston is the site of the next broadband expansion project to be launched by the Oklahoma Broadband Office.

Centranet is also othe latest internet service provider to carry out the project in northern and central Oklahoma, according to an announcement by the state. The launching will take place on Monday and according to the Broadband Office, the project will significantly enhance digital access to provide economic opportunity for residents and businesses in the area.

Background:

These projects are among some 175 that are funded by the ARPA State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and ARPA Capital Projects Fund that will greatly improve high-speed internet access throughout the state, but especially in rural Oklahoma. Awarded grants administered by the Oklahoma Broadband Office will connect more than 70,000 homes and businesses in 57 of the state’s 77 counties.
