A 1% gain in crude oil prices on Friday had the opposite effect on Oklahoma energy stocks as some fell 4% to 6% for the day.
Prices were helped by a larger-than-expected drawndown of US crude inventories last week.
West Texas Intermediate crude finished up 98 cents or 1.4% at $70.60 per barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude, considered the global benchmark gained 91 cents or 1.2% to close at $74.17 a barrel.
For the week, both benchmarks gained about 1.4%.
Natural gas prices finished down 20 cents or 5.41% at $3.51.
Oklahoma energy stocks finished the week down on Friday. Mammoth Energy experienced a more than 6% loss for the day while Unit Corporation dropped 4%.
