While Oklahoma’s rig count grew in the past week, the US count slipped

 

Oklahoma saw a gain of one rig in the past week to bring its total to 44, according to the latest Baker Hughes rig report.

The state’s total compared to 38 one year ago. Nationally, there was a decline of one rig to 583. In the past week,the count of oil rigs increased one to 479 while the number of gas drilling rigs active in the patch fellby two to 99. The number of miscellaneous rigs remained at 5.

in the past year, the total of rigs fell 42 to 625 including a decline of 26 oil rigs and 17 gas rigs while the miscellaneous number gained one. The number of offshore rigs fell one to 13.

Texas gained two to reach 281 while New Mexico was unchanged over the past week with 102 active rigs. North dakota remained at 34 and Louisiana’s count fell three to 30.

The Red Top Rig Report in Kansas showed the state’s count declined four to 30 rigs. Colorado slipped by one to 10 rigs and Ohio was unchanged at 10. Pennsylvania stayed at 15 and Utah continued with 11 rigs. West Virginia was unchanged with 10 rigs and the number of active rigs in Wyoming increased one to 19.
