Summit Carbon Solutions, the Iowa company wanting to build a large network of carbon capture pipelines in the upper Midwest is trying again to win approval of part of its project in South Dakota.
This time, the company’s request included what it called “major reroutes” as it applied to South Dakota regulators. Summit, the company whose project is backed by Oklahoma billionaire oilman Harold Hamm has permits approved in Iowa and North Dakota. A permit is pending in Minnesota while according to the South Dakota Searchlight, there is no state permitting processing for carbon pipelines in Nebraska.
