Crude oil supplies across the U.S. and at Oklahoma’s Cushing Hub were mixed in the past week, reported the U.S. Energy Information Administration on Wednesday.
Cushing slipped while nationwide, supplies increased in a move that surprised analysts.
The nation’s crude stocks grew unexpectedly by 600,000 barrels as of Nov. 15 when there were 430.3 million barrels. The previous week saw supplies of 429.7 million barrels. The U.S. stocks were down to 422.7 million barrels as of early October.
Cushing’s supplies fell 100,000 barrels from 25.2 million barrels the week of Nov. 8 to 25.1 million barrels the following week of Nov. 15. The northern Oklahoma hub has declined 800,000 barrels since Oct. 4 of this year.
