Wyoming, one of the states that joined Oklahoma in challenging the power plant rules of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, isn’t happy as well about a Supreme Court decision last week against the request for an emergency stay of the rules.
In all, 24 states asked for the stay and because of the Supreme Court decision, it means federal deadlines will remain in place for coal-burning operations to either drastically cut greenhouse gas emissions or be shut down.
Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon said in response, “While it’s disappointing the Supreme Court declined to immediately halt this overly expansive and unlawful rulemaking that directly attacks Wyoming’s core energy industries, be assured we will continue to pursue this critical litigation in the federal courts.”
