While regional transmission lines make the news in Oklahoma and other states of the Southwest Power Pool, consider what ratepayers in Massachusetts are facing…$512 million in additional costs over construction delays.
That’s right—delays. Three utilities in Massachusetts and the parent company to Central Maine Power agreed the Massachusetts ratepayers should pay $512 million in more costs because of delays in building a power transmission project in Maine, one that would allow Canadian hydropower to reach the New England power grid.
