Little change in latest Baker Hughes rig counts

 

The latest oil and gas rig count released by Baker Hughes Co. showed a gain in Oklahoma and a decline nationally.

Oklahoma’s count increased by one to 42 rigs. It compared to 37 rigs reported one year ago.

Nationally, the count fell one rig to 585. The total count saw a gain of one oil rig to 482 while the number of gas rigs declined two to 99. The number of miscellaneous rigs was unchanged at 4 and the count of offshore rigs stayed at 18.

The U.S. count is 39 below the 624 rigs reported a year ago and the decline included 20 oil rigs and 19 gas rigs.

Texas saw its total fall by 2 to 283 while New Mexico was unchanged at 99 and North Dakota stayed at 33. Louisiana was unchanged at 38.

The Red Top Rig Report published in Wichita showed the Kansas rig count increased by 4 to 33 rigs. Colorado added a r ig to reach 12 while Pennsylvania was unchanged at 13 and Ohio remained at 9 rigs.

Utah stayed at 11 rigs and there were no changes reported in West Virginia with 10 rigs and Wyoming with 17.
