First it was helping Hurricane Helene victims—now PSO is in Florida for Hurricane Milton

A day after PSO crews returned from helping restore power to Hurricane Helene victims in Virginia, West Virginia and Tennessee, another group of 380 PSO workers and contractors were sent to Florida.

They will be helping Tampa Electric and Florida Power and Light as Hurricane Milton smashes into Florida’s west coast.

After Hurricane Milton makes landfall, PSO crews will begin to receive their work assignments and locations to help bring the lights back on to impacted communities. The contingent includes line crews, servicers, tree trimmers, fleet mechanics, and other support personnel.

“Following a successful effort to restore power for victims of Hurricane Helene, our crews are now ready to provide mutual aid for people in Florida,” said PSO President and Chief Operating
Officer Leigh Anne Strahler.

“The work being done in the wake of these powerful storms goes a long way to help hard hit communities.”

There is no definitive timeframe for the PSO workers to remain in Florida. PSO’s ability to respond to customer needs in Oklahoma will not be impacted by the mutual assistance effort.
