The latest drought monitor shows the driest areas of Oklahoma are mostly in the southwest corner of the state with some areas in the northeast.
Based on the Oklahoma Mesonet Report issued Thursday, it clearly shows a strong need for rain. The Drought Monitor also showed that September indicated which parts of the state needed moisture….especially as it is winter-wheat planting time.
It remains highly unusual that the Panhandle and northwestern Oklahoma are among those regions of the state where there has been unusually heavy rainfall over the past few months.
