Arkansas eligible for $1 billion in money to launch rural broadband program

Another round of government money is going to be made available to expand broadband services in Arkansas.

Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Arkansas State Broadband Director Glen Howie announced this week that the National Telecommunications and Information Administration (NTIA) has approved the second volume of Arkansas’ initial proposal for the Broadband Equity Access and Deployment (BEAD) program.

Arkansas Business reported it will allow the state to seek more than $1 billion to kick-start the state’s BEAD proposal.
