If an experimental nearly $2 million project is successful, it might lead to geothermal energy for the Air Force at its bases across the U.S.
The Department of Air Force recently awarded a contract to Sage Geosystems to see if Geopressured Geothermal Systems could provide power to bases. The demonstration project will be built next year in Starr County, Texas, located southeast of Laredo and west of South Padre Island.
