The most recent count of oil and gas rigs across the U.S. indicated little change in most of the oil and gas plays.

The Permian Basin, with the highest number of active rigs at 304, was unchanged from the previous week, according to the Baker Hughes rig count.

The Williston Basin was also unchanged, but with a count of 34 rigs. The Haynesville remained at 33 rigs while the Eagle Ford of South Texas continued with a count of 49 rigs.

The Ardmore Woodford stayed at two rigs. So did the Arkoma Woodford while the Cana Woodford count fell by one to 20 rigs.

The Barnett play in north Texas finally saw a count of one rig after a few months of no reported drilling activity, according to Baker Hughes.

The D-J Basin in Colorado and southern Wyoming saw no change with a count of 8 rigs. The Granite Wash in Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle continued with four rigs. The Marcellus play count dropped by one to 22 rigs.

Still no reported drilling activity in the Mississippian, based on the Baker Hughes report. The Utica gained one rig for a count of 10.
