Oklahoma’s latest rig count held steady while US saw small decline

 

After a big gain reported last week by Baker Hughes in its weekly rig count, the U.S. experienced a decline this week while Oklahoma was unchanged.

The U.S. numbers declined by two to 588 rigs. The number of oil rigs remained at 488 while the gas rig count fell one to 96 and the miscellaneous numbers declined one to four. The national count in the past year is 42 below the 630 rigs reported a year ago including a drop of 19 oil rigs and 22 gas rigs. The number of offshore rigs slipped one to 20.

Oklahoma remained at 41 rigs, four more than a year earlier. Texas gained two to 276 rigs while North Dakota was unchanged at 33 and New Mexico’s count fell one to 106. Louisiana’s count dropped one to 42.

The Red Top Rig Report showed Kansas with a count of 22 rigs, two less than a week earlier. Colorado’s count fell one to 11 rigs while Ohio was unchanged at 9 rigs. Pennsylvania remained at 14 rigs. Utah dropped one to 11 rigs and West Virginia was unchanged at 10. Wyoming stayed at 17 rigs.
