Three persons are recovering after being injured in an explosion and fire at a Maysville substation connected to a gas plant.

The incident occurred Wednesday morning around 8:45 and the three were medi-flighted to  the OU Health and Baptist hospitals in Oklahoma City.

Garvin County Emergency Manager Dave Johnson was quoted as saying an investigation is underway to determine the cause of the blast.

KOCO TV News reported the explosion happened at a substation owned by Enerfin Resources off Highway 19 between Wallville Road and Highway 74.

The TV station quoted Johnson as explaining the explosion occurred during normal maintenance at the substation. Company workers responded immediately and shut off valves and secure the site.
