Baker Hughes reported a small decline in the number of active oil and gas rigs in the U.S. while Oklahoma remained steady at 41 rigs.
But what of the oil and gas plays? The Permian Basin added one rig to reach 307 in the area of west Texas and southeast New Mexico.
The Williston Basin in North and South Dakota was unchanged at 34 rigs. The Eagle Ford of south Texas stayed at 48 rigs. The Haynesville in Louisiana saw no change with a count of 33 rigs.
The Marcellus continued with 24 rigs.
The Ardmore Woodford stayed with a count of 2 rigs and the Arkoma Woodford saw no change with one rig. The count in the Cana Woodford continued with 19 rigs.
The D-J Basin count fell one to 7 and the Granite Wash of western Oklahoma and the Texas Panhandle continued with 5 rigs. The Mississippian continued another week with no reported drilling activity. The Utica remained at 9 rigs.
