Oklahoma has nation’s lowest gasoline price average

 

Gasoline prices in Oklahoma continue dropping to their lowest levels in a few years, reaching a new statewide average of $2.89 per gallon, reports AAA.  The Oklahoma average is the lowest of any state in the nation.

Oklahoma’s average is a dime less than a week ago and and 24 cents below the $3.13 average from one month earlier. The national average is $3.35 per gallon.

The lowest county average in the state is Bryan County along the Red River at $2.67 per gallon. It’s good news for motorists in Durant.

Oklahoma County is a dime higher with $2.77 while Harmon County in the far southwestern corner has a $2.78 per gallon average. Both are next lowest after Bryan county.

While prices are also high in the northwestern part of the state, Woodward is an oasis with an average price of $2.80 per gallon. The county is surrounded by averages of greater than $3.

Of the metro areas, Tulsa has the lowest average at $2.79, down two cents from a week ago. Oklahoma City has a $2.83 average, 18 cents cheaper than last week. Lawton’s average is $2.88, 12 cents below the average from a week earlier.
