The most recent oil and gas announcement from Califoria Gov. Gavin Newsom just raises a lot of eyebrows. A plan to avoid gas shortages.
Coming from a political leader who dislikes oil and gas and carries the ball at every opportunity to end oil and gas operations in his state, Gov. Newsom now wants oil refineries to be required to maintain fuel reserves to avoid supply shortages because they might lead to gasoline price spikes.
He still go in his digs at oil and gas, saying in a news release, ““Price spikes at the pump are profit spikes for Big Oil.”
Newsome further stated, “Refiners should be required to plan ahead and backfill supplies to keep prices stable, instead of playing games to earn even more profits. By making refiners act responsibly and maintain a gas reserve, Californians would save money at the pump every year.”
