A legal settlement over Entergy’s unpaid Arkansas taxes totaling into the millions of dollars is to be considered by the state this week.
The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette and Arkansas Business report the settlement involves $19.7 million in unpaid tax bills from 2014 to 2018.
The real total owed the state Department of Finance and Administration involved another $2 million in penalties and $9.8 million in interest. Under the settlement, the owed tax amount would be reduced to $7.9 million. It would also allow the energy company to use $12.3 million in tax credits with the state.
The Arkansas Legislative Council will meet Friday to finalize the settlement.
