Crude fell Friday…will it regain strength this week?

Falling crude oil prices on Friday took Oklahoma energy stocks down with them. Crude dropped nearly 2% as Brent crude dropped again below $80 a barrel.

Investors didn’t like the news about demand growth from top oil importer China. As trading starts this week, the question is whether there might be a rebound in prices.

US benchmark West Texas Intermediate fell $1.51 or 1.9% per barrel to $76.65 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Brent, the worldwide benchmark, dropped $1.3y6 or 1.7% and finished at $79.68 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

A majority of Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses on Friday with Mammoth Energy Services scoring a 3% decline for the day.

Other stocks had a mixed day of trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.

Exxon Mobil (XOM) down 0.57 at 118.17 – change 0.48%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) down 0.03 at 21.08 – change 0.15%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) unchanged at 28.16 – change 0.00%

NOV Inc. (NOV) up 0.01 at 17.94 – change 0.05%
