Continuing drop in crude stocks sent oil prices up on Wednesday

While crude oil prices managed a 2% bounceback on Wednesday, Oklahoma energy stocks were split.

The gain in crude prices came as news spread of a bigger-than-expected draw down in US crude stockpiles. It was the sixth week of a drop in stocks.

In the U.S., West Texas Intermediate crude went up $2.03 or 2.77% a barrel to settle at $75.23 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Overseas, Brent crude gained $1.85 or 2.42% to finish at $78.33 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

 September natural gas rose 10 cents to $2.11 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Wednesday’s trading resulted in a split day for Oklahoma energy stocks…some such as Devon Energy went up 3% while others such as Mammoth Energy dropped 3%.

Other energy stocks had the same kind of split day in trading, according to the Texas Energy Report.

EOG Resources (EOG) up 0.85 at 123.12 – change 0.69%

Exxon Mobil (XOM) up 1.52 at 115.68 – change 1.33%

Kinder Morgan (KMI) up 0.14 at 20.80 – change 0.67%

Marathon Oil Corp. (MRO) up 0.26 at 26.86 – change 0.97%

NOV Inc. (NOV) down 0.08 at 17.57 – change 0.46%

Occidental Petroleum (OXY) down 0.02 at 56.11 – change 0.04%

Phillips 66 (PSX) down 0.18 at 132.90 – change 0.14%

Tellurian Inc. (TELL) unchanged at 0.90 – change 0.00%

Valero (VLO) down 0.58 at 148.27 – change 0.39%
