Another Oklahoma city just felt the second impact of a deadly tornado.
The city of Barnsdall, hit hard by a May 6 EF-4 tornado that destroyed the NuCera Solutions plant, got the recent news that the Chase Corporation, which owns and operated the plant, revealed it would not rebuild the plant where high-grade chemicals and polyethylene waxes were manufactured.
“There are currently 93 employees in Barnsdall out of 122 working at NuCera,” Chase Corporation said, reported the Bartlesville Examiner-Enterprise.
“The total number of NuCera employees will be reduced to approximately 50 to support partial operations in Barnsdall as the phaseout is completed in the next 6 to 12 months.
A similar tornado struck Marietta in late April, killed one person and destroyed the Dollar Tree regional warehouse.
Dollar Tree also announced later that it would not rebuild the facility along I-35 in southern Oklahoma.
