Musk wipes his hands of California—moving SpaceX to Texas

Another loss for California Gov. Gavin Newsome is another gain for Texas.

Billionaire Elon Musk, the man who moved his Tesla manufacturing plant to Austin, announced he is moving his SpaceX headquarters and his social media company X to Texas.

SpaceX was headquartered in Hawthorne, California and is being oved to its rocket launch site called Starbase in Texas. Austin will become the new home for X which is currently headquartered in San Francisco.

The Associated Press quoted Musk as saying a new law signed this week by California’s Gov. Newsome the “final straw.” The new law bars school districts from requiring staff to notify parents of their child’s gender identification change..

“I did make it clear to Governor Newsom about a year ago that laws of this nature would force families and companies to leave California to protect their children,” Musk wrote, reported the AP.
