Crude prices dropped after positive refinery developments following hurricane Beryl

Tuesday brought another drip in crude oil prices as the anticipated supply disruptions from Hurricane Beryl did not come to fruition.

One US oil-producing hub in Texas incurred less storm damage than originally expected. It appears major refineries along the Gulf Coast did not experience the kind of damage many thought.

West Texas Intermediate crude settled down 92 cents or 1.1% at $81.41 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.

Global benchmark Brent crude finished down $1.09 or 1.3% to $84.66 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

August natural gas fell 3 cents to $2.34 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded losses again this week with Mammoth Energy dropping 4%. There were a few exceptions—Canoo rose 8% while Empire Petroleum was up more than 6%.

Other energy stocks were mixed on Tuesday, according to the Texas Energy Report.
