Crude oil prices dropped again on Friday with a 1% decline for the day as investors continued to express concerns about demand in China.
The decline came despite reported improved economic growth in the U.S. For the week, West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 3.7% while Brent’s decline was 1.8%. For the year, the US benchmark is still up 7.7% while Brent, the global benchmark is up 5.3%.
WTI on Friday dropped $1.12 or 1.43% to close at $77.16 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Brent crude closed down $1.24 or 1.51% per barrel in trading on ICE Futures Europe.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded more gains than losses in Friday’s trading. Southwestern Energy rose 3% and ONE Gas went up 2%.

Other energy stocks recorded minor gains with the exception of NOV which saw a 6% jump on Friday, according to the Texas Energy Report.
