The state of Kansas will proceed spending $450 million in expansion of broadband service, much like Oklahoma is doing, but without a director of the state agency responsible for the development. She’s been fired.
Reports this week indicated Jade Piros de Carvalho, head of the Office of Broadband Development at the Kansas Commerce Department confirmed she had been forced out after two years on the job.
The Kansas Reflector reported a commerce department spokesman cconfirmed the dismissal was made June 5 but offered no explanation.
