Crude oil prices slipped Thursday over latest US economic news

Global benchmark Brent futures fell 6 cents to $83.62 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.

The drop in US futures came after the US personal consumption expenditures index showed January inflation in line with the expectations of economists—meaning a June interest rate cut might be possible.

Natural gas prices took another hit on Thursday, falling 3 cents to $1.86 per 1,000 cubic feet.

Thursday’s trading saw most Oklahoma energy stocks recording gains for the day including a 3% increase for Ovintiv Inc.

Other energy stocks also recorded gains, according to the Texas Energy Report.
