An update on the progress of expanding broadband capabilities to rural areas of Oklahoma will be made at Wednesday’s meeting of the Oklahoma Broadband Expansion Council.
The agenda includes a status report from the Oklahoma Broadband Office and a planning update on Broadband Equity, Access and Deployment and the Digital Equity Act.
The office is dealing with a restart of the distribution of nearly $400 million to private ccompanies to expand high-speed internet to rural parts of the state. The restart came after Attorney General Gentner Drummond issued a letter of caution that the procedure used by the Broadband Office could lead to litigation
The meeting will begin at 10 a.m., October 18.
