Most trusted energy companies in the world?

When it comes to businesses being considered trustworthy, a new Newsweek and Statista survey found there is very little trust in U.S. energy companies, and certainly none in Oklahoma firms.

However, the survey involved firms that had more than $500 million in annual revenue, so it didn’t apply to some U.S. and Oklahoma energy companies.

The survey covered 23 industries in 21 countries and involved more than 70,000 people who responded to such statements as “I trust in this company to treat me fairly as its customer” or “I trust this company is competently led.”

Of the energy companies, none involved Oklahoma operations and very few represented those in the U.S.

Participants rated companies in terms of three touchpoints: Customer trust, investor trust and employee trust. Newsweek and Statista gathered and analyzed a total of 269,000 evaluations of different companies. For each company that received substantial evaluations, including Alliant Energy, the surveyors conducted social listening analyses, tracking the sentiment toward the companies on several segments of the internet.

The study considered all stock-listed companies headquartered in one of the target countries with a revenue of over $500 million. A complete list of the companies is available online at https://www.newsweek.com/rankings/worlds-most-trustworthy-companies-2023.
