After hitting a 10-month high, crude oil prices dropped in Wednesday’s trading, largely because of a surprise increase in U.S. crude inventories.
US Benchmark West Texas Intermediate crude fell 32 cents and settled at $88.52 after hitting a session high of $89.64 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude slipped 18 cents and closed at $91.88 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. It reached a high of $92.84 a barrel earlier in the session.
October natural gas fell 6 cents to $2.68 per 1,000 cubic feet.
There was a mix of trading for Oklahoma energy stocks with losers and gainers.
Other energy stocks recorded losses too. The Texas Energy Report had the results.
