A forecast from the International Energy Agency of record global demand and tightening supplies sent crude oil prices higher on Friday. It was their seventh straight week of gains and the longest such streak since 2022.
West Texas Intermediate crude gained 37 cents or 0.5% to finish at $83.19 on the New York Mercantile Exchange while global benchmark Brent crude rose 41 cents or 0.5% to close at $86.81 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Both WTI and Brent finished up about 0.5% for the week.
September natural gas rose 1 cent to $2.77 per 1,000 cubic feet.
