Considered one of the largest natural gas producers in the country, Chesapeake Energy intends to expand its exploration in two regions of the country— the Appalachian and Haynesville basins.

Leaders say even though the Oklahoma City company’s earnings were down from the $1.24 billion reported a year ago, they intend to push ahead with more drilling in what are considered some of the most lucrative natural gas basins in the country.
