As crude oil prices rose to three-months highs Tuesday, Oklahoma energy stocks had modest gains for the day. Prices went up due to more signs of tighter supplies along with pledges by Chinese authorities to shore up the world’s second-biggest economy.
West Texas Intermediate, the U.S. benchmark, rose 89 cents to close at $79.63 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange. It had earlier risen to $79.90 a barrel, marking the highest level since April 19.
Global benchmark Brent crude finished up 90 cents at $83.64 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe. It too had earlier hit $83.87, the highest price since April 19.
August natural gas rose 4 cents to $2.73 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Oklahoma energy stocks recorded modest gains for the day including NGL Energy Partners with the highest increase of the day at nearly 4%.
Other energy stocks also finished up for the day, according to the Texas Energy Report.
