New Mexico might ban ‘forever’ chemicals in fracking process

EPA proposes standards to make drinking water safer from PFAS - CBS Minnesota

New Mexico energy regulators are considering a total ban of “forever chemicals” in oil and gas production.

They might adopt new rules to regulate the substances and plan to hold a hearing next year to consider a ban of PFAS  chemicals. Their consideration follows a study by Physicians for Social Responsibility that found the PFAS in byproducts of industrial processes and in oil and gas drilling fluids used in hydraulic fracturing.
