Republicans in Congress are lining up to do battle with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service over its proposed federal protections in the Permian Basin…protections seen by some as another way by the Biden administration to hurt oil and gas production.
Some GOP Representatives in the House contend it is another case of overreach by the Biden administration and its use of the 50-year old Endangered Species Act. The government is using the Act to protect the dunes sagebrush lizard that lives in a portion of the Permian Basin in West Texas and southeastern New Mexico.
