Demand for electricity to soar as temperatures do the same in Texas

With temperatures edging above 100 degrees or higher this week across Texas, the demand for electricity is expected to break records this week predicted ERCOT, the state’s grid operator.

The Electric Reliability Council of Texas believes the demand from its 26 million customers, which represents about 90% of the state’s power load, could hit 85,471 megawatt hours on Tuesday reported Reuters.
