Texas legislators work on standards for EV charging stations

Preparing for Future of EV Charging Standards — EV Connect

With more than 80,000 electric vehicles on the roads in Texas, state legislators figure it is time to create standards for the charging stations that provide the power for the EVs.

A bill has already been filed to create the standards and is being reviewed by a Texas Senate Committee.

An official with the Texas Electric Transportation Resources Alliance says it can’t come soon enough as the group anticipates that between 2026 and 2033, at least 50% of all new vehicle sales in the state will be electrified reported KRLD Radio News.
