Mixed crude prices were recorded Wednesday with US crude falling and Brent making a slight gain. All the while, Oklahoma energy stocks performed solidly with modest gains.
Signs of economic softness against the U.S. stock draw-down led to the mix of crude prices.
West Texas Intermediate crude dropped 0.12% to close at $80.61 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose 0.06% and finished at $84.99 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
May natural gas rose 4 cents to $2.15 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Most Oklahoma energy stocks recorded gains in Wednesday’s trading, including a 4% increase for OG&E Energy and PHX Minerals. A few companies experienced losses including Unit Corporation with a nearly 6% drop and Empire Petroleum at nearly 4%.
