The Biggest Reason to Worry about Recent Utah Earthquakes, and How to – Be Prepared - Emergency Essentials

Because of growing earthquakes in southern Kansas, state legislators are concerned of the possibility of another Keystone pipeline system oil leak like the one that occurred in northern Kansas in December.

Their concerns arose during a legislative briefing made by TC Energy’s Gary Salsman, who is a vice president for field operations for the company. His briefing to a joint meeting of the Kansas House energy committee, focused on the pipeline operator’s spill and cleanup near Washington, Kansas.

The Associated Press reported that several lawmakers admitted they are nervous that the pipeline in the Wichita area could be susceptible to damage because of the increase in earthquakes since 2013.
