Four Corners Power Plant case heard by New Mexico Supreme Court

No Such Thing as Justice

The New Mexico state Supreme Court is now weighing a bid by the state’s largest electric provider to overturn a 2021 decision by regulators who denied a move to transfer company shares in a coal-fired power plant to a Navajo energy company.

Arguments were heard Tuesday and the case could determine how long the Four Corners Power Plant will continue to operate. The Associated Press reports the case hinged on Navajo Transitional Energy Company’s effort to take over Public Service Co. of New Mexico’s shares.
