Tuesday saw a more than 2% gain for crude oil prices and Oklahoma energy stocks recorded strong improvements as the rescue of Credit Suisse eased concerns of a banking crisis that would hurt economic growth and cut fuel demand.
Reuters reported actions to bring stability to the banking sector apparently calmed fears about the financial system and as a result, crude oil prices rose for the day.
West Texas Intermediate crude for delivery in April went up $1.69 to close at $69.33 a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude for May delivery gained $1.53 and finished at $75.32 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
April natural gas rose 13 cents to $2.35 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Tuesday resulted in some strong gains for Oklahoma energy stocks including a 7% gain for Mammoth Energy Services, and a 5% gain for NGL Energy Partners.
