Reports show Ovintiv USA had more success with Canadian County wells

Big production by Ovintiv from four STACK wells - Oklahoma Energy Today

 

Ovintiv USA Inc. moved its history of big producing oil well discoveries from Kingfisher County to Canadian County—still in the STACK play and just further south of where it recorded significant producers.

The company’s latest filings of completion reports showed six wells, three on one pad and three on another, with production of more than 3,300 barrels of oil a day.

The first set of 3 produced from a site at 16 14N 6W , a site about 9 miles southeast of Okarche. The Divide Clark wells had combined production of 1,547 barrels of oil a day from the Mississippian. For those who know the area, the site is about 4 miles west of Chester’s Party Barn located along the Northwest Expressway.

The Divide Clark 1406 3h-21xx, completed in August 2022, produced 648 barrels of oil a day and 703 Mcf of natural gas. Drilled depth was 20,527 feet but the completion report showed true vertical depth at 8,388 feet. The well had an April 2022 spudding.

The Divide Clark 1406 4h-21xx, also completed in August, produced 594 barrels of oil a day along with 822 Mcf of natural gas. The well’s drilled depth was 20,286 feet and its true vertical depth was 8,543 according to the completion report. It too had an April spudding.

The third well, the Divide Clark 1406 2h-21xx, produced 305 barrels of oil and 609 Mcf of natural gas a day from a drilled depth of 19,960 feet. The completion report showed a true vertical depth of 8,536 feet following spudding in April of 2022.

Ovintiv’s 3 other wells, drilled a mile south of Chester’s Party Barn at 27 14N 6W, had combined production of nearly 1,700 barrels of oil a day.

Frank 1406 4h-15x, with a drilled depth of 19,413 feet and a true vertical depth of 8,308, produced 503 barrels of oil a day and 597 Mcf of natural gas from the Woodford formation. The completion report showed a spudding in May 2022.

Frank 1406 3h-15x produced 807 barrels of oil a day and 792 Mcf of natural gas from the Mississippian at a drilled depth of 19,031 feet and a true vertical depth of 8,049 feet. Completion was made in September of last year following a spudding in April.

The third well drilled on the same pad, the Frank 1406 2h-15x, produced 385 barrels of oil a day and 391 Mcf of natural gas when completed in September 2022. Drilled depth was 19,039 feet while the true vertical depth was 8,231 feet in the Woodford formation. The well had an April 2022 spudding according to the completion report.
