Oil prices rose 3% on Wednesday and Oklahoma energy stocks had a good day as well.
It proved to be a one-week high for crude based on an improved global economic outlook. Analysts indicated the impact of sanctions on Russian crude output outweighed a massive surprise build in U.S. crude stocks.
West Texas Intermediate crude for February delivery went up $2.29 a barrel or 3.1% to settle at $77.41 on the New York Mercantile Exchange.
Global benchmark Brent crude rose 3.2% on a $2.57 increase, finishing at $82.6i7 a barrel on ICE Futures Europe.
Both benchmarks settled at their highest since Dec. 30, with WTI up for a fifth day in a row for the first time since October and Brent up for a third day in a row for the first time since December reported Reuters.
February natural gas rose 3 cents to $3.67 per 1,000 cubic feet.
Gains were recorded by most Oklahoma energy stocks including 4% for NGL Energy Partners and Gulfport Energy Corporation.
