Kansas Governor says pipeline tax exemption “a mistake”

Kansas Gov.Laura Kelly has jumped onto the bandwagon for the state to reconsider the property tax exemption it gave to the Keystone pipeline—the one that leaked an estimated 14,000 barrels of crude oil into a a creek near Washington, Kansas.

“I thought we should have done that a long time ago,” she told the Topeka Capital-Journal. “Yeah, that, I think, was a mistake that we made. … I think that was a big mistake to provide a property tax exemption.”
