Regulators postpone meeting on Universal Service Fund rules

Agency Rulemaking – Oertel, Fernandez, Bryant & Atkinson, P.A

Oklahoma regulators have called off a meeting planned for Wednesday to discuss some rulemaking changes to the administration of the Oklahoma Universal Service Fund.

The Corporation Commission announced that the presentation to the Commission scheduled for Nov. 8 at 1:30 p.m. will not take place.

The announcement stated that it was determined that additional discussions with regard to potential rulemaking actions relative to the administration of the OUSF would be useful prior to the development of statutory changes.

Additional discussions concerning potential rules and a rulemaking will be held in the future according to the announcement by Jeff Kline, Deputy General Counsel.

The OUSF provides funding, in coordination with Federal Programs, for qualified Oklahoma schools, libraries, healthcare facilities, and rural telecommunications companies. The fund also supports Primary Universal Services to rural Oklahoma.
