Electric vehicle manufacturer Canoo wants $1 million from Oklahoma City before it brings a manufacturing operation to the city.
The Oklahoman reported the EV maker will create 550 jobs over three years in exchange for the financial assistance. Canoo wants to locate the plant at the former Terex telehandler plant located near I-40 and Morgan Road.
The plant was left empty earlier this year when Terex moved operations to Mexico. The facility includes a 500,000-square-foot main building, a 12,000-square foot training center and office space totaling 37,000 square feet.
